School Notes,
– Lewis Emery Cottle was born in Macon Co. Ill. Nov. 11, 1873. He is medium height and weighs 160 lbs. He first attended school in Ill. After removing to Nebr. with his parents, he attended school in the country until two years ago when he entered the High School. He expects to enter the University next fall.
– Alfred Edward Bures was born in Clay Co. Nebr. Mar. 23, 1876. He is tall, of dark complexion and weighs 160 lbs. He attended school in a rural district until eleven years of age when he entered the Edgar school of which he has since been a member.
– James Garret Walley was born in Edgar, Nebr. Oct. 10 1878. He is tall of a dark complexion and weighs 125 lbs. He has always attended school in Edgar and is the youngest member of the class.
– Madge M. Timmerman was born in Assumption Ill. Sept. 7, 1877. She is of medium height, a brunette and weighs 130 lbs. She attended school in the country until 1891, when she entered the High School.
– Thomas Hendricks Hill was born in Macon Co, Ill June 5, 1876. He is tall, of rather light complexion and weighs 160 lbs. He attended school in Boody, Ill. for several years after which he removed with his parents to this city where he has attended school. It is his desire to take a law course at the University.
– William Albert Dobson was born in Clark Co. Iowa, Nov. 3, 1877. He is low of stature, of dark complexion and weighs 135 lbs. The first years of his school life were spent in Edgar. He removed to Cal. where he resided for several years. Returning to Edgar, he has since been a student in the public school.
– Edna Llewellyn Prosser was born Oct. 28, 1878, in Edgar where all of her school life has been spent. She is rather tall, and weighs 125 pounds.
– Virgia A. Bradley was born in Clay Co. Nebr. Apr. 13, 1876. She is tall, a blonde, and weighs 110 lbs. She attended a country school for about five years and has since been a student of the Edgar school. She intends to take a thorough course in pharmacy.
– Richard Lee Bures was born in Clay Co. Nebr. June 16, 1873. He first attended school in the country and then entered the High School of Edgar. He is medium height, weighs 147 lbs. He expects to continue the study of chemistry.
– Edward P. King was born in Matoon Ill. Apr. 5, 1874. He is medium height, and weighs 140 lbs. He has attended school in Ill., Indianapolis, Ind., Lincoln, Nebr., and Edgar.
– Everett Stewart Story was born in Edgar, Jan. 15, 1876 and weighs 130 lbs. He is low of stature and of rather light complexion. He has obtained his education entirely in this school.
The class of 1895 having applied themselves diligently to their studies will now graduate with credit to themselves and to their instructors. It is a very noticeable feature that by far the greater number of the class are boys and that more than half of the members were born in Clay Co.
By careful study it has been found that 1525 lbs. and 194 years or an average of 138.3 lbs. and 17.6 years is required to attain the position reached by this illustrious class.
– Miss McNally has won the banner.
– Carol Pomeroy, Grace Hill, Chris Jenkins and Cliff Warren visited the high school this week.
– The seniors are making good grades in their examinations.
Mrs. Gee was a visitor in Miss McNally’s room, Monday.
– Mrs. Jacobs and Miss Lenfest have decided not to have exercises the last day of school as many of their pupils are out of school on account of the diphtheria scare.
– Nearly all of Miss Kirk’s pupils are in school again.
– Harvey Eller is studying telegraphy.
– Miss Mabelle Prutsman called in the High Room, Wednesday and recited several selections much to the enjoyment of teachers and pupils.
